Why We Do What We Do
Our mission at On the Road Custom Cutting is simply to provide the finest quality of meat to our customers, contribute to the success of our partner farmers, and engage in the most ethical and respectful harvest of the animals in question as possible.
The cornerstone of our operation is engaging in the on-the-farm harvest of our animals. In traditional market slaughter operations animals are loaded into a truck or trailer, taken to auction, sold, and then transported again to a large-scale slaughterhouse. This confusion and less than ideal environments can lead to unnecessary stress on the animal and the release of adrenaline into their systems which ruins the meat.
To help mitigate that issue, we travel to our partner farms and work directly with the farmers to ensure our animals receive peaceful dignity and quickest end possible. No transportation stress, access to water up until the final moment, and no disorientation due to relocation. All because happy, peaceful animals lead to better food.
